If YouTube videos were enough, we would not have tutorials.

And if tutorials were enough, we would not have YouTube videos.

What if we could have both?

Two good things. Two gaps.

YouTubeExplains outside the context of our class. Same answer, but your lecturer cares about the method.
TutorialsTeach in class context, but need you and 60 others to line up your schedules.

Tutorials can only happen about once a week, for 3 courses at most. The rest get abandoned.

Introducing MLMS.

A student-powered learning management system that merges the quality of a tutorial class with the flexibility and sustainability of a YouTube video.

How it works

  • Every course has a course lead.
  • Each week: one student taught tutorial video and one quiz, from that week's class.
  • Anyone can tutor that week. The lead just makes sure it gets uploaded.
  • Think Khan Academy, but for Mech.

Meet your Mech Buddy

Everyone in the department is paired for the semester. Your buddy nudges you to watch the week's videos and top the quiz leaderboard.

They are also your welfare buddy. Two birds, one stone.
